The Mechanism is a Live Electronica band; performing with Guitar/Vocals, Keytar and DJ/Percussionist. Combining the club, pumping DJ sound with the free flowing energy of a live band.

Formed by Drum and Bass producer Ben Hudson, Spanish guitarist Riley Al-Johary, and DJ/Percussionist Mike Cains. Together they have created a unique style, blending bold beats, beefy baselines and layers of ethnic fusion which is setting them up to be New Zealand’s next big electronic band!

Their unique style of music which is festival and dancefloor ready, has also seen them bridge the gap into the mainstream, with their music being played on Channel Threes, prime time TV show, “The Project”, New Zealand Idol, TV Promos including American Ninja Warrior, Melrose Place, Kiss of the Dragon (Jet Li) and also included in the videogame ProtonWar. Their music has been picked up and featured in NZ On Air’s “New Tracks” compilation (previous known as the Kiwi Hit Disc), Apple Music playlist as well as having interviews and support on one of NZ’s biggest electronic music station, George FM through to student radio stations across the country, we’re sure they’re going to be a household name soon.

Having toured and played across the country, road tested and honed their setup and performance at festivals and events including, AUM Festival, High Distinction, opened for drum and bass royalty; Goldie in Queenstown, Subtopia, Cassette Nine and Kings Arms to name a few.
They have the right technology, sound and setup to continuing hitting those bigger stages and festivals, and also able to offer a compact and customized setup to play any venue.
